Version Migrations
Every Migration I Have Run, in One Place
This is the work I have done most since 2021, and the one companies ask about first. The names of the companies stay out of this page, so what follows is the work itself, how it runs and what it costs in downtime.
Challenge. A company runs a version of Odoo that is several years old, with custom modules written for it, reports the office depends on every day and accounting data that has to come across to the cent. The upgrade keeps slipping, because nobody wants to risk any of that.
Solution. Each migration runs end to end on a copy of the database, as many times as it takes, while the company keeps working on the live one. Custom modules are rewritten for the new version instead of being patched to survive it, invoices, e-invoicing files, reports and balances are regenerated on both versions and compared field by field, and every difference ends up in a written list that is emptied or accepted before a go-live date is agreed.
Result. More than ten databases migrated, most often from 14 to 16 and from 16 to 18 or 19, on Community and Enterprise. Go-live took half a day of downtime, up to a full day for the largest databases.
Selected Projects
Marketplace Sales and Profitability for a Consumer Brand
Challenge. A brand selling through its own online shop and on Amazon, with in-house production, needed to know what each product really earned once marketplace fees and manufacturing costs were counted.
Solution. An Amazon connector bringing orders, revenues and fees into Odoo, manufacturing cost tracking, free-sample management, a link to the external accounting software and a financial plan comparing forecast and actual figures.
Result. Sales, costs and margins per channel and per product in one place, with reports that replaced the spreadsheets used to plan the business.
Watch Brand Suite, Odoo for Watch Micro-Brands
Challenge. Small watch brands sell limited editions where every piece is numbered, and customers expect proof of authenticity, a warranty tied to their watch and a reliable service when it needs repairing.
Solution. A prototype Odoo integration that numbers each limited-edition piece, issues a PDF certificate of authenticity with a QR code checked on a public page, binds the warranty to the serial number and runs the repair center, with a wholesale price list for retailers.
Result. A working demo where owners see their watches, certificates and warranties in their own portal area, and the brand follows the whole life of each piece, from production to after-sales, in one system.

View on GitHubAI Text Rewrite for Odoo
Artificial intelligence where it actually saves time, with product descriptions, quotation notes and customer emails rewritten in one click, all with the same tone and rules, without copying text back and forth from a chatbot.
An Odoo module that adds AI to any text field, configured once for the whole company and covered by over 80 automated tests.
View on GitHub1. One Click
An AI button appears next to the fields you choose, such as descriptions, notes and emails.
2. Your Voice
The text is rewritten following one shared prompt, and can learn the style of texts already in the database.
3. Your Choice of AI
Works with OpenAI, Groq or any OpenAI-compatible provider, including models hosted in-house.
